ABOUT US

Meet the people behind this event. Originally started by 5 of us, the event is now run by Dino and Steven who have been part of the Electrical Industry Fundraising Luncheon since its inception in 2016. Doing that as a labour of love has been both challenging and extremely rewarding. From the early days of collecting cash and just inviting a few friends to adopting technology to assist in make the day a remarkable one. We must also acknowledge the ongoing support of a number of individuals who have supported us in our journey in delivering a marquis industry event.

I have been in the Electrical Industry for 37 years, starting out as a young 17 year old high school graduate. I have grown-up in the Electrical Industry and consider it be a big part of our lives.

This was so evident when in 2016 we got the news that my wife had stage 3 Breast Cancer. The Electrical Industry rallied around us and gave us the emotional support we needed.

Ros Worthington is a friend of Rita’s and straight away swung into action. Although we have always donated and Rita has volunteered, we had not really understood all the support and services offered by BCC -WA.

They offered us so much support in so many areas, we had the great support of family and friends so we thankfully declined financial support, driving to appointments, help around the home and with our girls.

We graciously accepted being linked up with a Breast Care Nurse. Moira walked with us every step of the way. She was always available to speak over the phone and made home visits. When things were tough, she would be on the other end of the phone offering support and assistance.

Some clients do not have anyone to support them or their families emotionally, financially or medically. The work carried out by BCC-WA provides a lifeline to Breast Cancer Patients, offerings wholistic care package and offering hope and support.

Our fundraiser may have started small, but over the last seven years has grown into something we are so proud of. We know we can make a difference and each year we have more people in our industry impacted by breast cancer, we are not only about raising much needed funds, but support and awareness.

We believe we can continue to make a difference and thank everyone for their on-going support.

Owner/Director POWER ON

Hello, Perth Electrical Industry people. I want to introduce myself to you.

I have been an Electrician running my own electrical contracting company for the last 31 years and am still here!
I have been involved with this worthwhile event, “Electrical Industry Luncheon”, for seven years. I am such an advocate for this charity event because my mother and sister have had Breast cancer, and thankfully after treatment, they are both ok.

I believe this is because of the research done by the National Cancer Institute and other organisations, such as Breast Cancer Care WA, where we come to raise money for families fighting this battle every day. The Breast Cancer Care WA supports families such as workshops, therapies, counselling, specialist breast care nurses, financial help, and assistance with everyday expenses, to name but a few.
These men and women work tirelessly every day to make the patients and their family’s journeys easier to bare, so we like to think our contribution from our special day helps in some way to lighten the load.

The event has grown over the last seven years to such an extent that we have now decided to make others aware of this charity event that may want to be involved by producing this website.

We are very thankful to have the opportunity to give something back to the community by banding together as a profession and hopefully making this journey easier for others to bear.
