2024 Electrical Industry Luncheon supporting Breast Cancer Care WA
G’day All,
Our annual Electrical Industry Luncheon supporting Breast Cancer Care WA is fast approaching and will be held on Friday, 11th of October again at The Camfield in Burswood.
The deal hasn’t changed with the luncheon payment of $150 + bf and the minimum donation to BCCWA of $100.
One thing we have changed this year is we won’t be having an auction, so perhaps if you can dig a little deeper on your donations that would be more than appreciated.
As always we sincerely appreciate all your support, of which we know the people your money goes to help. We appreciate it immensely as they concentrate their fight on this onerous disease.
Best Regards
Travis, Dino, Steve and Warren

That’s a wrap for 2023!
Thank you to all the wonderful attendees, special guests and volunteers that made the 2023 event another terrific day. To be constantly amazed at the generosity of the electrical industry through the good and challenging times is very rewarding. We can’t thank you enough.
A huge thank you to all the successful bidders on the auction items and to the companies and individuals that made the auction happen.
200 people donned purple and descended on The Camfield for a great cause.
Now an annual event, the Perth Electrical Industry Fundraising Luncheon is a significant date on the fundraising calendar in support of Breast Cancer Care WA.
Special guests were Dr Ros Worthington (OAM), founder of the charity and Malcolm Day, chairman of the charity mingled with attendees as purple bras were plentiful, paired with a delicious lunch, inspiring speeches and an auction.
Last year’s event succeeded yet again, raising an incredible total of $90,000.

Why We Do This?
In 2016, a devastating diagnosis of breast cancer shook the life of a colleague’s wife in Perth. As a group of men in a very male-dominated industry, we felt helpless in the face of this sudden adversity. That’s when we heard about Breast Cancer Care WA (BCCWA), an organization that provided much-needed support to the family during their tough times. We knew we had to do something to help, so we decided to organize a lunch with six friends, setting a minimum donation of $100 and covering the cost of our own lunch.Little did we know that this humble beginning would transform into a massive industry-wide event, raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research and support. As the years went by, the event grew exponentially, and we learned how to streamline the process of collecting donations and organizing logistics. But it was always a labour of love, spearheaded by the original four committee members.
In 2022, the event reached new heights, attracting 200 attendees and raising a staggering $90k for BCCWA. Now in its eighth year, the event continues to evolve and grow, welcoming new faces every year. But the core principles that guided us from the beginning remain unchanged: a $100 donation and covering the cost of our own lunch and drinks. This event has become a beacon of hope, shining a light on the power of collective action and reminding us that together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer.
In Australia, statistics indicate that 92% of people diagnosed will still be alive 5 years after diagnosis. Most people are diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer which responds to treatments including surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. A smaller proportion of diagnoses are stage IV or metastatic disease where median survival rates continue to increase. The sooner breast cancer is detected, the better the survival statistic.
